Specialty automobile manufacturer Automobili Pininfarina is going to produce the most powerful road-going performance car ever designed and built in Italy. The Pininfarina Battista will be powered by a 1,900 hp, 1,696 lb-ft of torque all-electric Li-ion battery pack powertrain with all-wheel-drive and torque vectoring. The Battista will launch from 0-100 km/h in less than two seconds and from 0-300 km/h in under 12 seconds. Top speed is more than 350 km/h. Stopping will be provided by 390 mm carbon-ceramic 6-piston brakes, front and rear,

The Battista incorporates Race-to-Road technology transfer through its partnership with Mahindra Racing and expert advice from race car drivers including former Formula One driver Nick Heidfeld. The Battista will combine extreme engineering and technology in a zero emissions hypercar performance package.

The Battista will have a range of 450 kms on one charge. Only 150 of the fully carbon fibre monocoque Battista’s will be hand-built at Pininfarina in Turin, Italy starting in 2020. The car is named after Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina, who founded the Carrozzeria Pininfarina coachbuilding company in 1930.

Automobili Pininfarina have recruited an impressive list of technology specialists. The result is that the Battista will arrive next year having been developed through the expertise and inspiration of a team that have been integral to the launches of cars such as the Bugatti Veyron and Chiron, Ferrari Sergio, Lamborghini Urus, McLaren P1, Mercedes AMG-Project One, Pagani Zonda and Porsche Mission E.

2020 is also the 90th anniversary of the Pininfarina SpA design house. They have followed the the design principle of form and function in harmony. Their designs include classic Pininfarina cars like the Cisitalia 202 in 1947 to the more than 100 Ferraris, the most recent of which was launched this decade.
