If driving 340 km/h (211 mph) in an Aston Martin with the wind in your hair is on your bucket list, that box can now be ticked. The new DBS Superleggera Volante can climb to that top speed thanks its 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine that generates a staggering 715 hp @ 6,500 rpm and 664 lb-ft of torque from 1,800 to 5,000 rpm. The DBS Superleggera Volante is the fastest convertible Aston Martin has ever unleashed on public roads. Deliveries to the lucky few will commence in the latter part of 2019 at an MSRP of $329,000 USD.

Aston Martin’s 4,100 pound open air flagship convertible can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and from 0-100 mph in 6.7 seconds. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a carbon-fibre prop shaft and a new ZF 8-speed automatic transmission mounted at the back of the car. Strengthened to cope with the V12’s massive torque output, the transmission also has a shorter final drive for increased responsiveness and in-gear acceleration.

Stopping power is provided by 410mm diameter ventilated carbon ceramic brakes up front and 360 mm ventilated carbon ceramic brakes in the rear. Brake caliper colours include Black, Red, Grey, Yellow, Q Madagascar Orange, Q Vivid Red, Q Vivid Blue, Q Vivid Orange or Anodised Bronze. The DBS Superleggera Volante is shod with 21” Ten Twin spoke wheels with Pirelli P Zero 265/35/21’s up front and 305/30/21 in the rear.

Driver aids include Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Traction Control (TC), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Positive Torque Control (PTC) and Dynamic Torque Vectoring (DTV).
