The exterior of the new TT features a three-dimensional Singleframe radiator grill and large side air inlets. Refueling will be easier with the removal of the cap underneath the tank flap. The gas pump nozzle can be inserted directly into the opening. Headlights with LED or Matrix LED technology are available options.
The newly designed optional S line exterior package includes a full-length front splitter, vertical air inlets, a radiator grille in titanium black and specific side sills with inserts as well as a sporty rear end. Added is a wider diffuser and vertical air inlets below the rear lights with three horizontal fins each.
With the optional S line sport package and Audi magnetic ride, the body is lowered by ten millimeters (0.4 in). Other chassis highlights include progressive steering, four-link rear suspension and Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC). The wheel-selective torque control is activated in fast cornering and improves handling as required by means of brake interventions on the unloaded wheels on the inside of the corner.
Sport seats with integrated head restraints are standard on the Audi TT. Optional S sport seats, which come with the S line sport package, have pneumatically adjustable side bolsters.Besides the driver-oriented Audi virtual cockpit, the basic version of the new model now features the Audi drive select dynamic handling system, a rain and light sensor, heated exterior mirrors and the multifunction steering wheel. The instrument panel resembles an aircraft wing; the round air vents with integrated controls allude to jet engines, a classic TT detail.
With the 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit display, the driver can choose between two modes: in the classic view, the speedometer and tachometer take center stage. In “Infotainment” mode, content such as the navigation map is enlarged. The new optional sport display provides information on the engine output as well as the torque and g-forces. The driver assistance systems include lane change assist, side assist, lane departure warning, active lane assist, traffic sign recognition and park assist with a rear-view camera.
The TT Roadster comes with a black or gray soft top that weighs 39 kilograms (86 lbs) and doesn’t compromise trunk space. The top opens and closes in about 10 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph).
The new 2019 Audi TT will arrive at German dealers and become available in other European countries in the fourth quarter of 2018. Prices for the TT Coupé start at around 35,000 euros (approximately $54,000 CAD). The TT Roadster is available from around 37,500 euros (approximately $58,000 CAD). Canadian pricing has not been released yet.
