Mercedes-AMG is celebrating 50 years of turning understated road-cars into track monsters. It is not possible to appreciate fully the performance capabilities of these vehicles on public roads, at least not legally. To begin to understand what these cars and SUVs are engineered to do, we spent a day participating in the AMG Performance Tour at a new race track on Vancouver Island.

Mercedes-AMG wants to bring Formula 1 technology and performance to the road with the lease of the Project ONE at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, Germany. Mercedes-AMG aims to bring the very latest, efficient, fully-fledged Formula 1 hybrid technology from the race track to the road. This high-performance hybrid is said to produce over 1,000 hp and reach a top speed of more than 350 km/h. The show car combines race track performance and day-to-day suitable Formula 1 hybrid technology, a world first.

Gary Paffett, driving the Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM, finished second and put Mercedes-AMG Motorsport on the podium for their 400th DTM/ITC race. The second place result brings the total to 522 podium finishes for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport in the DTM/ITC. This race, marking a special milestone, in front of 79,500 spectators over the weekend and was a good accomplishment with a safety car period, changeable weather conditions and plenty of scraps for position.
The Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster enhances the GT lineup with a completely new model variant. With an output of 557 hp and peak torque of 502 lb-ft, the AMG GT C is the most powerful new Roadster variant and uses some of the technical refinements of the AMG GT R. The new Roadsters make hallmark AMG driving performance an even more intensive experience!
