The 2018 North American International Auto Show, held at the Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan, is open to the public January 20-28 2017. We toured the show on the press preview day and found many sparkling new TrackWorthy machines!
Honda used the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show to unveil its all-new Sports EV Concept. The friendly faced 2 door fastback coupe draws styling cues and the same electric car platform as the recently revealed Urban EV Concept. Honda has stated that a model based on the Urban EV Concept will go into production for delivery in Europe in 2019 and Japan in 2020. A model based on the Sports EV Concept could follow.

TEAM MUGEN director Nagataka Tezuka announced today that McLaren-Honda driver Jenson Button will join the team for a one-off race in the SUPER GT Series in the GT500 class. Button will drive a Honda NSX-GT at the 46th International SUZUKA 1000km August 27, which is Round 6 of the SUPER GT series at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan.
The all-new 2017 Honda Civic Type R has set a new lap record for front-wheel drive cars at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. On April 3rd, 2017, a development car lapped the world-famous circuit in 7 minutes 43.8 seconds. The lap time was achieved during the final phase of the model’s testing, on a dry track with an optimum ambient temperature for the best tire and powertrain performance. The new time represents an improvement of nearly seven seconds compared to the model’s predecessor!

Honda’s worlds of two and four wheels came together in Italy as the Castrol Honda World Touring Car Championship team joined LCR Honda MotoGP and a raft of new Civic Type R machines.
Selected media and VIP guests from Honda and Castrol, partner of Honda in the Castrol Honda WTCC and LCR Honda MotoGP teams, joined the Japanese marque’s stars at the Circuito Tazio Nuvolari, Cervesina, Italy, for a day of thrills in the new Honda Civic Type R.
